1/8/2019

1/8/2019- Tuesday

We all had a good nights sleep after such a grueling time from Kona to Tranquility Island.  We figure it was probably on the order of 24 hours to get here!
All hands awoke mostly refreshed and we will have all day to get organized, go snorkeling and rest up.  We are planning on going out to the nesting beaches tonight at 1700 hours and spend the night looking for nesting hawksbill turtles.

We spent the night out on the nesting beach but did not have any nesters coming ashore.  Everyone did a great job in the field and, although we are all very tired, everyone is feeling fine.  We are gearing up for another foray into the field this afternoon at 1700 h and we hope we have better luck.

I apologize for the lack of images (and we have a lot of great shots) but it is just impossible to upload them from Moso Island.

Nadi Airport- Would you believe, they are doing their homework... well, most of them are!

On the way to our first night of monitoring the beach for nesting hawksbills.

Headed back to Tranquility after a night in the field.  Still some smiling faces!
